Hartford PAL Capital City Fall Classic Championship at the XL Center

HARTFORD —  Local basketball teams took to the hardwood Monday night at the XL Center for the Capital City Fall Classic Championship.

In Monday’s Final Four, Prince Tech defeated Hartford Public, 65-61.

Prince Tech’s Delshawn Jackson Jr., finished the game with 36 points and was named regular season MVP and tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. Prince Tech finished the season with a record of 10-0; Hartford Public Finished 7-3.

The tournament was presented by the Hartford Police Athletic League and Hartford Police Department.

Hartford police and Aetna partner together to help inner city youth

HARTFORD -- Aetna, Hartford police and the University of Hartford partnering together to help those in need Saturday.

A 3,000 dollar check was presented to the Hartford Police Athletic League by Aetna during halftime of the university of Hartford men’s basketball game.

“Aetna has been in the headlines and everyone talks about what’s going on with them but what matters to the community and the city is that Aetna is still a committed partner to our city, our community and our youth and this really demonstrates it,” said Hartford Deputy Chief Brian Foley.

Joining forces, HFD and HPD Play Ball at Dunkin’ Donuts Park in 1st Annual Julio Lozada Softball Classic

(HARTFORD, Tuesday, June 13, 2017) – The Julio Lozada Foundation is proud to announce that the 1st Annual Julio Lozada Softball Classic will be held on Saturday, September 23rd, at Dunkin’ Donuts Park.

The Hartford Fire Department and the Hartford Police Department bring it on in this bragging rights fundraiser to provide education mentorships and scholarships for students in the Greater Hartford region.

"I'm grateful for the Lozada Foundation's tremendous and longstanding commitment to Hartford's kids,” said Mayor Luke Bronin. “Our dedicated firefighters and police have always been great partners of the Lozada Foundation, and I look forward to seeing them square off on the field to have some fun and raise some money to support the foundation's mission."
