David Jorgensen - Chairman

Dave is the Portfolio Manager, Alternative Investments Director and a Managing Partner of a wealth management team at a Morgan Stanley in downtown Hartford. He is responsible for investment strategy, trading and risk management, holding FINRA Series 6, 7, 31, 63, and 65 securities licenses as well as life, accident and health insurance licenses in several states. Dave has a broad array of business and individual clients, whom he advises in the areas of investment, asset management, risk management, financial planning and benefits. His primary clientele are business owners, executives and professional athletes.

Dave’s career began with The Hartford Financial Services Group in New York City as an institutional wholesaler to major bank and wirehouse clients. He moved on to become Vice President of the Sports & Entertainment Group at Lenox Advisors, a wealth management firm in midtown Manhattan. In 2012, he moved his practice home to Connecticut and joined his mother Linda to form the Jorgensen Group at Morgan Stanley. 

Dave is dedicated to his community, serving on the Investment Committee of the United Way of Northern CT and as Chairman of the Hartford Police Athletic League. He has served on the City of Hartford Police Review Board, Planning and Zoning Commission, and as Vice Chairman of the Hartford Redevelopment Agency. In 2012, he was appointed by Gov. Dan Malloy to the board of the Capital Region Development Authority, a State of Connecticut quasi-public agency charged with economic and housing development in the metro Hartford area.

Dave grew up in Hartford, CT, and graduated from the Avon Old Farms School, in Avon, CT. He earned an athletic scholarship to the University of Florida, where he was a 3-year starter for the Gator football team and won an SEC Championship in 2000.  He lives in Hartford, CT with his wife and 3 children and enjoys boxing, golf, hiking and coaching youth sports outside of work.

Mike Clifford - President

Mike is a 1988 graduate of Hall High School where he played soccer and hockey.  He lives in West Hartford with his wife, Heather, their boys, Ryan and Sean, and two rescue dogs.  In 1992, Mike graduated Le Moyne College with a B.S. Degree in Accounting and returned to his hometown of West Hartford.  His career began as a designer of electrical devices in the transit, life safety and power supply industries.  In 2000, Mike founded BRD Builders, a commercial general contracting business located in Hartford.  BRD Builders continues to successfully complete public and private projects throughout the State of Connecticut in the office, retail, municipal, state university, and multi-family housing markets. 

Having worked in the North End of Hartford over the last twenty-five years, Mike has developed a strong connection to the community within our Capital City.  Since 2013, Mike has dedicated himself to the success of the Hartford PAL and the positive relationship it builds between the police department and the community it serves. 

Mike also serves as the Treasurer of the CFM Foundation, best known for its annual football camp.  Additionally, it provides laptop computers to Hartford, college-bound students and provides additional program funding to educators within the Hartford school district.

In the past, Mike has also served as a board member of the South Park Inn Homeless Shelter in Hartford, and coached youth football and hockey.

The Clifford family are active volunteers and proud supporters of many organizations within our community.

Peter Getz - Vice President

Peter has spent the bulk of the last 40 years working in the City of Hartford initially as a Hartford Police Officer and currently with the CVS, Aetna Healthcare team.  During his twenty-one years as a Police Officer, Peter achieved and retired at the rank of Detective. He was assigned not only to patrol division but also to the Street Crimes, Major Crimes, Fraud and Juvenile Divisions. His last assignment was with the FBIs Joint Terrorism Task Force shortly after the 9/11 attacks. Peter is a multiple recipient of the Hartford Police Medal of Valor, Distinguished Service and Merit Awards. He collected over 220 letters of Commendation from citizens and businesses he had the honor to work with. Peter participated in the early PAL years and their boxing, basketball and ice hockey programs. He greatly enjoyed going to the Elementary schools and reading books to the children on numerous occasions. For 27 years, Peter served as a certified instructor for both The Connecticut POSTC Academy and The Hartford Police Academy. For 10 years, Peter participated and sat on the Board of the Canton Juvenile Review Board, which provides alternatives for their entry into the juvenile detention system.

Upon retirement, he began working for then Aetna Insurance as an Investigator. He now leads a team of seven Investigators as their Investigative Lead. Peter is a part of the Volunteer council and has sewn scent cloths for premature babies, Cancer head scarves and lap blankets for those less fortunate. He has also mentored local 7th and 8th grade students through a weekly Aetna program worked on. 

Peter is happily married to his wife, a lawyer, for the past 35 years. They have two grown children, both continuing his role in working with the public. They are currently Registered Nurses in Hartford and Boston. He is also fortunate to have a wonderful daughter in law.

Peter has appeared on several television shows depicting investigations that he was involved with. Shows such as Geraldo Rivera, Unsolved Mysteries and the Dr. Henry Lee Documentaries showcased the hard work and dedication he and his co-workers displayed. 

Since joining the Board in 2013, he is extremely proud of the hard work, dedication and effort put forward to better the lives of the children and families of PAL. 


Cynthia Isales - Clerk

Cynthia Isales is the legal director of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP), the state agency charged with providing an array of emergency services to Connecticut residents. The Legal Affairs Unit of the agency, which Attorney Isales oversees, handles a range of legal issues affecting the agency’s divisions including the Connecticut State Police and the State Forensic Lab. Prior to joining DESPP, Cynthia served as Chief Legal Counsel at the Office of Early Childhood and Assistant General Counsel at the Office of State Ethics where she argued and won the agency’s first state Supreme Court appeal. Her additional work experience includes posts at a law firm in Springfield, MA and a legal assistance program in Hartford, CT. Cynthia is active in community service, having served for three years as a board member for Girls, Inc. of Holyoke, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering girls and young women and as a guide at the Noah Webster House in West Hartford, CT. A graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law, Attorney Isales now resides in West Hartford with her sons Anselmo and Alejandro.

Matt Gaieski​ - Treasurer

Matt is a CPA and Signing Director with Clifton Larson Allen (CLA) with over 18 years of public accounting experience, beginning his career at RSM in New Haven, joining blumshapiro in 2009, which merged into CLA effective January 1, 2021.  Matt has extensive experience working with a wide range of privately held clients in the manufacturing, distribution, and retail industries, as well as food & beverage companies and professional service firms. He has worked with various international companies and has significant experience with consolidation and reporting matters, mergers and acquisitions and due diligence and is also part of the firm’s Employee Benefit Assurance Services Group, specializing in defined contribution and defined benefit plans.

Matt was born and raised in Oxford, CT, graduated from the University of Connecticut and currently resides in Glastonbury, CT with his wife Susan and two children, Samantha and Cameron.  He enjoys golf, fitness, obstacle course racing and finding new places to travel and discover.
